Spring Fashion: Sweet looking headbands 03/19/2009
![]() "I’ve recently seen more and more girls playing around with hair accessories. I first noticed this trend on The Hills (Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port often sported unique headbands) and even more so on Gossip Girl where the headband has been a trademark of Blair Warldorf." Our salon is expanding our boutique area and adding "Charlotte's Consignments" to the mix. It got me thinking about making some hair accessories such as Ribbon head bands to display in the boutique now that ANYONE can put their items up for sale. I love the look! ![]() Spring 2008 Edition... Cawaii Hair Magazine: When first I began in the hair styling field it was the early 80's and I vividly recall setting up my first 'station' or 'chair'. In a stack of discarded hair books I discovered an illustrated book that I recall to be "Hairlusions" by Gary Gerard and it became one of my best 'tools' on hand. The book was unusual because instead of photographs of models, it was entirely composed of quality (timeless) illustrations. What's so nice is that with illustrations is easier not to get caught up with the exact texture, thickness or color of the models hair. It's easier to just look at the shapes, angles and the like. While I recall there were plenty of very 'dated' styles, it was still by far a treasure trove of hairstyles since we know that given time, old styles resurface again with just a few twists and voila! Instant update! Classics or takes on classic shapes will always find their way back in vogue. Salon-225.com has launched! 06/10/2008
Finally! I've been tinkering with just what this new website would become. I am a freelance/ self-employed hair stylist and work out of a beautiful salon in a fantastic location where I've happily resided for a total of 18 years. That is forever in "Salon Years". I am so Blessed! | Stylist225: Musings
