Color your roots, build body and a fresh scent.. Is Dry Shampoo that good?
I have discovered a really cool over the counter product that will give your limp hair more volume and control. How easy is it? Wow... it couldn't be easier... I first used this spray shampoo on 2nd day unwashed hair. It made my hair smell good but it also gave it some texture just like the Name implies, however I don't always believe what I read... so was pleasantly surprised.
So, the following day I sprayed it into my freshly washed and dried (soft and limp) hair and it gave me the body and lift at the roots I usually only get on the 2nd day when all the hair product I use has built up and combined with natural scalp oils. In a good way, the dry spray shampoo somewhat simulates this conglomeration. It's combining a drying agent and blows colored powder between the hair follicles, plumping them up a little like a feather pillow. Not to worry about 'drying' out the hair with this product.. it only absorbs the excess oil at the roots.
That brings to mind an old-school barber's trick that entails puffing the thinning hair of their gentleman clients with white powder and using hairspray to encapsulate the particles so that they give nearly same effect as the dry hair shampoo. This is easier!
Well, why not give it a try yourself, if you haven't considered it. As promised, it works great to refresh your hair if you don't have time to wash it and imparts a fresh, clean scent. You'll love it especially if your hair is too soft and limp after a fresh wash. And added bonus in the colored variety aids in blending away graying roots between color touch ups.
July 22- Update: I love the brunette to cover my new growth between color touch ups! It's now my go-to solution especially when pulling my hair back.
Oct 23- Update: Oh no... the product I'd come to depend on is discontinued.. (why is always like that?).. well there are others out there. Currently I'm trying a different one and the verdict is still out.. it does the job however it's only 4 oz vs 6 oz for the same price. It is also a spray in... Salon Graffix in brunette.
I'm considering trying a powder next.. I'll update here after it comes in.
NOTICE.. the product displayed below is the discontinued item.. I'll get pics for the others soon.
As a professional hair stylist, I try many products and understand different hair types and the various needs of my clients. Here I'll be reviewing and sharing my very favorite professional products as well as OTC/ retail hair care.
Many of the salon quality tools aren't necessary for daily use, due to the expense. I'll post about the various price ranges of good, useful styling tools like flat irons, blow dryers, etc....
For your convenience, in some cases I've added clickable image links of the products that I recommend which can be ordered online and shipped right to your door, tax-free and often free shipping!
