gray hair TRANSITIONING
and lower maintenance coloring Techniques

Are you considering a major color change, such as transitioning from artificially colored hair to your natural hair color? The contrast between your roots and the mid-lengths and ends, can be reduced using highlighting and toning, although lifting out medium to dark artificial color is more complicated, but blending the hard lines will make the grow out phase easier (rather than living with a harsh skunk line, until all the previous color is cut out).

Or perhaps you just want to minimize the upkeep of current hair coloring. One of my favorite options is that gray stands can be made to appear as highlights, by coloring only the gray... switching from the cool shade (white, gray, silver) to a warmer shade, such as light blonde. Blonde hair compared to white new growth, isn't a stark contrast, although nearly any shade can be used from caramel, auburn or simply blend in, a few shades lighter than the rest of your natural color. This is an option whether you are solid gray already, or have only a few strands that aren't working for you.

I have years of expertise as a color correction specialist in Baton Rouge, and can share with you the available options to best achieve your lower maintenance hair goals.

A  'gray hair transitioning' chemical process, especially on medium to dark hair, will involve removing stubborn, often a build up of artificial pigments, and there’s many factors to consider based on your chemical history, length, density and integrity of your current hair, root to tip.

Your starting point is crucial to understanding how long it will take. Especially if you want to maintain length.

Text your favorite hair inspiration photos, and photos of your current hair to begin your complimentary text or phone consult.

Depending on your hair condition, information that is  provided during an virtual consult, or detected in recent photos, you will more than likely be asked to come in for a studio consult prior to a scheduling a MAJOR chemical service.

For many reasons it is best
to examine your hair in person before scheduling to do any chemical work. Some people opt to just get a haircut and style and discuss during this visit. R
eserving 15 minute in-person consult appointment is a non-fundable $25 fee, although it will be applied to the chemical appointment scheduled within 8 weeks of the consult.

During the in-person consult we will discuss options based on your end goals, and we may do a hair strand test to determine the elasticity and condition of your hair and we will go over your options.
You'll receive plenty of the information needed to make an informed decisions to decide which path is best for you.

Below are only a few before and after examples of the transitioning processes. You will find many more on instagram @stylist225
