Color Correction often begins with Color Removal

When is Color Removal necessary?  It is an important and necessary step to the Color Correction process. Removing color is a tedious, lengthy and expensive process, however sometimes it is the only option if you want to do the least amount of damage to your hair while getting closer to a color that you desire.

Who needs Color Correction?  This often happens to a client (affectionately known as a "Kitchen Beautician") that has applied their own color at home and it has gone too drab, too dark, OR maybe it wasn't a mistake or accident per se, but the client has grown tired of an extreme (vivid) or dark color such as a Red or Black color.

Things you should know before scheduling this service:

*How many applications of the dark color were applied?  (Important because it will take additional treatments for every layer of color applied)
*How long has the dark color been in the hair? (the longer it has been in the hair the harder it is to remove)
*Is the color a 'permanent' or "semi-permanent' color? (the removal process is different, so this is VERY important to get results)
*Know that it is a time consuming process averaging 4 to 5 hours for the 1st visit.
*Know that your color  will be a work in progress and each salon visit (average every 6-8 weeks) will be necessary to reach the desired outcome.
*Start using a protein repair treatment prior to your appointment.  Infusium 23 or Redken Anti-snap are very good products that will improve the elasticity and strength.
