Locally in Baton Rouge the Spanish Town Ball in February is a festive event that you wear crazy costumes of anything you can imagine and the theme color is Hot Pink and Black. Inspired by those zany Pink Flamingo yard signs you might see in given neighborhood around town.
If Baton Rouge (LSU) is known for street parties and festive spirited fun. While other Mardi Gras Balls are more for sequined gowns and Black Ties, if you know anything about the Spanish Mardi Gras Ball, one thing you should know is this group likes to party and dress up in wild costumes.
This even always showcases good local Louisiana Bands from Zydoco to Swamp Pop and entertainment. You are welcome to BYOB, food and ice chests. To get a ticket it helps to know someone, and one of my best friends always gets a block of tables every year. At approximately 50 a head it's a great party to attend.
People also dress up for the Spanish Town Parade, St Patricks Day Parade they wear crazy hats and beads and celebrate with the Irish by drinking Green Beer! This is definitely a party town. LSU and Saints Football are also occasions to get your Game Day outfits to show your colorful spirit with the rest of the Football frenzied crowds
Then last but NOT least in the Fall there are always so many Halloween Parties to attend that you will have to choose which party you want to try out this year! I'm still working on it as it's one of my favorite holidays as it's my Birthday weekend!!!
