We colored Cheryl's hair a deep chocolate brown for gray coverage and razor cut her hair for lots of movement and texture. She has body in her hair as long as it's not too long.
After a consultation with Cheryl I understood that she wanted a long fringe neckline and height and volume in the crown. This was achieved by overdirecting the hair at the neckline and side fringe which was later cut piece-y with the shears in a point cutting method. She has lots of natural body and we recently colored over her highlights with a dark brown closer to her natural color but one that will fade away gradually revealing her highlights over time.
Today we used a semi-permanent color to add a warm richness and shine. Another benefit is added body as this color actually coats the hair and broadens the diameter slightly. Aimee is a new Mom and her Mom gave her a gift certificate for both the color and a hair cut. We looked at layered haircuts in photo books to find a picture that described best the type of layering and length she was thinking of. Several inches were removed to just below shoulder length and soft texturized layers were added to remove weight at the bottom and give more volume to the top layers, as well as long side swept bangs. Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide and Iron Silk were used.
