Fran has been wanting a change, so we were letting her hair grow out to a longer shape. Since her hair texture is rather thick and coarse, layers and texture help to remove some of the heaviness. We also regularly color her base a very natural shade of golden brown and occasionally add some subtle highlights.
You'd never know that Debbie's hair started out nearly entirely gray (top-95% and underneath about 50%). We added lowllights for depth and toned the gray with a buttery blonde color. The colors really show the movement within the haircut. Debbie wore a bob for years and we've experimented with shorter layered shapes.
Base color dark blonde with golden blonde highlights added for dimension. Very thick, natural wavy hair with coarse texture. This combination has a tendency toward dryness and soaks up products. I like the Pureology Relaxing Serum on her hair most recently. I'm always trying new products and this one is the one I reach for the most for this texture of hair.
This warm golden brown (slight auburn tone) color we use is close to what Lynette's natural color had been. We use the razor to remove bulk and create movement to her very straight, coarse textured hair. Sheri's hair is very thick with a slightly course texture. This is a totally new look for Sheri in both color and haircut. We've selected an above the shoulder layered shape that can be worn either with the natural curl with big volume or sleek and smooth with the aide of smoothing products and a flat iron. We've gone with more ash toned highlights recently because she wants to transition from an all over color and partial highlights to the less demanding lowlights and highlights and allowing her natural color to blend in for less obvious new growth at the roots. Susan has extremely thick hair with natural wave. Longer layers work best as she enjoys styling her hair different ways, including pulling it back into a ponytail. We touch up the base color to a natural level 6 and add highlights every other visit. Moisturizing and smoothing products are layered throughout styling to help smoothe and weigh down the hair shaft. This day we used a flat iron to add a slight flip to the ends. Razored and texturized Inverted Bob. Blown dry with Sexy Hair Smoothing Spray and applied a little Sexy Hair 'Slept In' for control. |
