THINNING HAIR SPECIALIST
I personally know the struggle of thinning hair. Growing up I never would have guessed how much I would have in common with my mother who had such severe hair loss starting in her 40's, she wore wigs and falls to cover her hair loss.
While my hair was never extremely thick hair, it was pretty average.. then in my early 50s, around menopause I began to notice a little thinning in the crown of my head.. the thinning got worse over the following years until I finally got the help of an endochronologist at BR Clinic.
Time was lost, assuming it was thyroid related. First my primary For treated a thyroid condition, which thinning can be a sign of. When that didn't help a dermotoligist added 200 mg of spirolactone and that seemed to slow the shed some. However, not enough.. it wasn't until my hormones got balanced by an Endrochronoligist that the noticeable shedding stopped and after 3 months I noticed new growth..by 6 months I was hopeful and relieved to see a massive improvement.
After going so long without proper treatment, I knew from professional training that each hair strand is fed by a blood supply and if untreated too long the hair shaft miniaturizes when the blood supply dies off..if left in the telagen phase for too long, those hair follicles can be forever gone .
At around 61, during a stressful move, a 2nd serious amount of shed began. It took 3 months to see the end, during that time I realized that the shed began a month or so after reducing a medicine called Spirolactone, since it's a diuretic. I figured I'll have to commit to drinking more water to go back on it and. lo and behold, the shedding stopped once I got back on a 100 mg dose. Every persons chemistry is different though and and endochronoligist can examine bloodwork for causes.
Although I try to look at the bright side.. like my hair is so fast to dry now.. and can recognize that my hair thinning journey was/is helpful to gain knowledge to share and the sensitivity to understand what so many others have or will go through regarding the hair loss experience.
If you have questions or need any help with your hair loss, I can share what I have learned and definitely experienced at suggesting hair styles and products that can thicken and cosmetically give coverage, to lead an active healthy lifestyle with the confidence you deserve.
THE 3 CYCLES OF HAIR GROWTH
1. Anagen (85 to 90% of hair is in this active growth phase for 2-8 years)
2. Catagen (2- 3 weeks hair follicle shrinks, and stops growing)
3. Telogen (the Resting Phase is 2-4 months when the hair strand falls out)
