When do you need extra supplements for your hair? During times of stress and when you have medical issues or notice more than usual hair shedding to name a few.
Like skin cells, which renew and are shed daily, the hair follicle also sheds strands of hair. It's in our DNA, and while there are average cycles, our hair strands are programed to be released, so that a new strand will replace it. Think of eyelashes or body hair.. each person has different amounts and length and thicknesses. Hair and nails are the last places to be fed in our bodies and therefore are good indicators to what is going on within us, that is out of the norm. The average shedding of a head of hair is said to be 100 strands a day. Do take into consideration what is normal for you, and that if you wear longer hair the shedding will be more obvious simply due to it's length. If you are at concerned of excess shedding, try taking this supplement. You do not need a prescription. A/G PRO by Miller can be picked up at your local pharmacy. At Walgreens, you'll have to ask the pharmacist as it is kept behind the counter.

Are there any side effects to taking A/G Pro?

There are no side effects as it is only a combination of essential amino acids and vitamin supplement. I also recommend the use of a product such as Nioxin to reduce the shedding of hair at the follicle. Neither if these suggestions have adverse side effects. However Rogaine (or generic version) isn't suggested for use during child-bearing years. It is said to thicken the diameter of the hair shaft & increase growth/length and I have clients who have great results (yet I've not used it personally). Please use your own judgement...
